True Friendship

Fiona was a girl who rarely smiles. She looked so sad every day. Reina, her classmate, was so worried about her. One day, Fiona was not going to school. The next day, she was late.

She didn’t say anything either to the teacher or friends. She kept quiet the whole day. After class, she went back to her home in a hurry. Reina decided to follow her so that she knew what her problems were.

After finding Fiona, Reina was shocked. She saw Fiona sitting helplessly in the cemetery. Reina was approaching Fiona. She saw that Fiona was crying beside her sister’s tomb.

Reina sat closely with Fiona and hugged her. She said that everything will be okay. Reina asked Fiona to tell her problem and never hide it. After that day, they were becoming true friends.

Nilai moral: Sahabat sejati adalah mereka yang mengenal kita dengan baik dan berusaha selalu ada untuk kita tak hanya saat kita bahagia, tetapi juga saat kita sedih.

The Secret Park in My Grandfather’s House

Last summer, my family and I went to my grandfather’s house. We stayed there for about one week. My brother and I were so happy since my grandfather’s house was located close to the beautiful greenery farm.

One day, I saw my grandfather go to the farm behind the house. I was so curious since I had never gone there. The place looked so scary. My grandfather saw me. Then, he immediately asked me to follow him.

And, I was so surprised since there was a flower park behind the farm. The park was full of flowers and butterflies. My grandfather said that he planted all the flowers and took care of them.

After that day, I spent my whole day enjoying the time in the park.

Nilai moral: Jangan memikirkan sesuatu secara berlebihan terhadap sesuatu.

The Fox and the Stork

One day, a selfish fox invited a stork for dinner. Stork was very happy with the invitation – she reached the fox’s home on time and knocked at the door with her long beak.

The fox took her to the dinner table and served some soup in shallow bowls for both of them. As the bowl was too shallow for the stork, she couldn’t have soup at all. But, the fox licked up his soup quickly.

The stork was angry and upset, but she didn’t show her anger and behaved politely. To teach a lesson to the fox, she then invited him for dinner the next day. She too served soup, but this time the soup was served in two tall narrow vases.

The stork devoured the soup from her vase, but the fox couldn’t drink any of it because of his narrow neck. The fox realized his mistake and went home famished.

Nilai moral: Tindakan egois cepat atau lambat akan menjadi bumerang!

The Proud Rose

Once upon a time, in a desert far away, there was a rose who was so proud of her beautiful looks. Her only complaint was growing next to an ugly cactus.

Every day, the beautiful rose would insult and mock the cactus on his looks, all while the cactus remained quiet. All the other plants nearby tried to make the rose see sense, but she was too swayed by her own looks.

One scorching summer, the desert became dry, and there was no water left for the plants. The rose quickly began to wilt. Her beautiful petals dried up, losing their lush color.

Looking to the cactus, she saw a sparrow dip his beak into the cactus to drink some water. Though ashamed, the rose asked the cactus if she could have some water. The kind cactus readily agreed, helping them both through the tough summer, as friends.

Nilai moral: Jangan pernah menilai seseorang dari penampilannya.

The Golden Touch

Once there lived a greedy man in a small town. He was very rich, and he loved gold and all things fancy. But he loved his daughter more than anything.

One day, he chanced upon a fairy. The fairy’s hair was caught in a few tree branches. He helped her out, but as his greediness took over, he realized that he had an opportunity to become richer by asking for a wish in return for his help.

The fairy granted him a wish. He said, “All that I touch should turn to gold.” And his wish was granted by the grateful fairy. The greedy man rushed home to tell his wife and daughter about his wish, all the while touching stones and pebbles and watching them convert into gold.

Once he got home, his daughter rushed to greet him. As soon as he bent down to scoop her up in his arms, she turned into a gold statue. He was devastated and started crying and trying to bring his daughter back to life. He realized his folly and spent the rest of his days searching for the fairy to take away his wish.

Nilai moral: Keserakahan akan selalu membawa petaka.
